In 2022, all 5 members of the band attended Rock Camp Alberta 2022. It was here where Velvet Concord would meet. After the camp ended, the boys decided to keep a band going under the name Velvet Concord. The band started playing shows at school events, garage shows, and in local halls playing covers of classic metal and rock. In January of 2023, Velvet Concord wrote their first original, "Float Away" which is now featured on their self-titled debut EP, along with 2 other originals. In October 2023, Velvet Concord competed in Rock For Your Spot present by Lemmon Stage in Red Deer, AB and they took home the first place prize. The prize was recording a single with Ryan Kuly at COS Studios in Red Deer. In February 2024, the band competed in Wacken Metal Battles Canada round 4 in Edmonton.
